The Whitney L. Brooks collection of Coe family papers relates primarily to Levi Coe (1760-1832) of Litchfield, Conn., and his son Levi Coe (1810-1881). The papers consist of finanical and legal records, correspondence, deeds, estate papers, land surveys, and other items.

The Family histories collection consists of genealogical reports written by eighth grade students in Litchfield, Warren, Morris, and Goshen, Conn. They were written at the request of the curator of the Litchfield Historical Society. The histories were written by three different groups of eighth graders: Litchfield Junior High School, 1951-1952; Litchfield Junior High School, 1956; and Wamogo High School, 1958, and are arranged alphabetically by family name as provided on the report.

Papers relating to Moses Lyman (1768-1844) of Goshen, Conn., consisting of a document related to the Litchfield and Canaan turnpike road, a land survey of Ivy Mountain, and an agreement with Benjamin Palmer to dismantle and rebuild his house. The Palmer agreement is four pages and quite detailed, specifying building materials and techniques, costs, and a schedule for completion.

The papers of Dr. Elisha Sill (1730-1808) of Goshen, Conn., consist of his diary and account book, 1771-1783, and his copy of a 1776 letter to Col. Oliver Wolcott in which he asked to be relieved of service. The collection also includes two 1774 letters from committees of correspondence and papers related to Dr. Sill's son Elisha Eaton Sill (1774-1812) and grandson William Eaton Sill (1806-1888).
